First Post of the Blog!

Hello and welcome everyone to my new blog. It's a cold and wintery day, with snow falling on the ground here in Missouri. When the weather conditions aren't favorable for fishing what better way to spend the day than to start a fly fishing blog!

It has been a busy year of fishing and guiding so far. I'll do my best to post some of the highlights from this season in the next few weeks here on the blog. After that get ready because 2015 is right around the corner and with trips already planned for Florida, Mexico, and of course the guiding season in Alaska, its sure to be one heck of an exciting year!

2014 has been great with the trout fishing in Missouri last winter, a 6 week fly fishing trip to Brazil, 4 months of guiding on Kodiak Island "Alaska's Emerald Island", and a few fishing trips throughout interior Alaska with the buddies. I was treated this year with the opportunity of landing 12 new fish on the fly. Spending a month and a half in Brazil really helped with that!

As a treat for the first blog post, here are a few of the beauties that were caught this year. (Note- one of these fish was caught using a bait casting setup, although I'm a die hard fly fisherman I also will use the most practical gear for the situation!)

A strong male Silver Salmon. This one, caught by fly fishing expert Capt Frank , tipped the scales at 18.4lbs!
